Series of books “Engineering and Architecting Multidisciplinary Systems”

This series of books is a set of practical guidelines intended primarily for professionals who want to understand and apply daily engineering of complex or multidisciplinary systems. Here they will find methods, processes, modelling and analysis techniques, reasoning elements, useful recommendations for application, as well as case studies or examples to start using this approach.

The content of this series of books comes from experiences of practitioners who were facing situations during their professional jobs (and even throughout their lives) for which no, or very few, known methods existed. The author of these books has not invented all the described concepts and principles; the majority of them existed from a long time ago, but here they are clarified and presented as a consistent set to be applied immediately and simply.

What you will find in these guidelines are basic practices about What-to-do using a standard vocabulary; but the interest of the books resides more in the details of How-to-do.

The main sources come from training materials that the author has used over the last twenty years to teach Systems Engineering in industry, government and academia concerning more than five thousand people.

Alain Faisandier, the author of this series of books, has spent a lot of time in consultancy and teaching engineering, architecting and designing disciplines in international context during his forty years career. Time and time again he has been encouraged by many people to publish what he taught and discussed to benefit practitioners in companies, academia and government organisations.
